We started off Day 2 with a lovely breakfast again. I wasn't feeling strong enough to brave the choppy waters so I stayed back.
My husband went ahead and came back with visual aids for me.
He got some really beautiful shots on the Grand Canal.
Church of the Salute/ Santa Maria della Salute
Ponte dell'Accademia
Rialto Bridge
Rialto Market
I told my husband to look for this cafe and try the cicheti/bar snacks. These are small platters of tapas-like food for 1-2 Euros.
He picked polipo- octopus.
...and a glass of beer which he thoroughly enjoyed as the weather was scorching.
He found this amazing bakery which makes the tastiest Italian temptations.
Some cannolis....and my favourite- Baci.
Our friends kindly recommended us this place for yummy pizza- Antico Forno. My husband
'da-paued' some back for a late lunch.
He saw Ca' d'Oro (an old palace) with stunning walls (due to previously being covered with gilt) from the Canal.
The view exiting the Canal with the Church of the Salute in the background.
More gondolas
St. Mark's Campanile
Yummy pizza and fresh fruit from the market along with addictive biscuits.
