Apr-May Food Highlights

Our dear friend made us a Brioche with duck eggs and a splash of orange blossom. It was so heavenly especially toasted with butter. Perfect loaf.

April was the month of Carrot Cupcakes.

We craved Malay Fried Bihun. So I made some with tomato ketchup. Looking at this right now is making me drool buckets.

Friday is free doughnut day at the office.

 Pho!

 Fish on rice

 Dim Sum! The best.

Tried out a new place thanks to Mel and Mark. Lovely handmade pizzas.

 Delicious Homemade Pistachio Ice-cream.

 Caramel Pudding- his favourite

Also tried out a new place called Misato (a Japanese canteen-style shop) for Ying's birthday lunch- courtesy of Ying and Google.
The Bento sets were yummy yet reasonably priced.

I love me some Tempura Udon.

 Sashimi Bento.

 Gyoza.

This Bento set came with fried chicken, gyozas, sushi and tempura. Yum.

 Mini desserts at Ponti's. Gelato.

 Creme Brulee.

More Misato the following week. This was the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice.

Tempura Soba! We are absolutely Smitten with Soba now.

Courtesy of Google, Y found a Greek place for dinner. We went there to celebrate the handing in of the thesis and the anniversary of our engagement.

The food was 10/10 and the place was very relaxing. Also of course, reasonably priced. :)

The hummus was fantastic, the portions were ginormous. I was really surprised that we managed to finish it, with the exception of the potatoes.

In preparation for our trip home to Malaysia, we had some authentic Indian cooking. Fish curry, peppered paneer and paper thosai! The best paneer and thosai I have ever tasted.  This is what I wish Thosai Garing would taste like.

Last week, in view of the Queen's jubilee, instead of free doughnuts, the girls in the office wheeled in a cart with the Queen's face that was filled to the brim with teacakes, angel cakes, scones, whipped cream, apple pies, Victorian sponges, cookies and more! What a day! I was dizzy with choices. The swirly white and pink design immediately caught my eye. I asked one of the girls what it was and she told me it was her absolute favourite angel cake. She made me take 2. I wish I had taken 3! Haha. My favourite cake thus far. Soft and creamy. So happy that I can find them at Sainsbury's.
