A memorable day. I got to commemorate the birth of my favourite person in the world and celebrate the birth of my little nephew all on the same day! :) May- full of celebrations. My love won a teaching award. I'm so proud of him and really happy that his students enjoy his lectures. It is so not easy to balance teaching with a doctoral study.
We had been celebrating birthday week with one surprise everyday culminating in a home-cooked dinner, Liew style! I made him grilled potato wedges (the best I've ever had), pan-fried salmon and a simple mozarella salad. Some wine to finish the meal.
Chocolate and walnut crumble- contrary to how it looks, it was unbelievably moist! Had it with some chocolate icing.
The opening of presents and cards- no pictures due to data protection laws. :D
The birthday continued well into the weeks ahead. The long-awaited mug. Hunted high and low for this one. Perfect for a huge cuppa just the way he likes it. Saves trips to the coffee machine. The mess all around= the mess of marking exam scripts. The toothpicks and vitamins were on their way to the kitchen when they were hypnotised by the beautiful stripes on the mug. The toothpicks swooned and...ah well..
An early wedding gift- to be revealed.
In some of his other birthday gifts- a new winter coat and some twisted chinos!
What an exciting month.
