Zoo on Boxing Day Part II- Tiger Territory, Penguin Beach, Meerkats, The Outback, Into Africa and Rainforest Life

Tiger Territory

1. Prepared for adventure

2. Melati emerges below....

Phwoarrrrr!!!! And she bounds up the tree effortlessly to our eye-level! (for all you out there who think that climbing up any tree, you'll be safe from a tiger, you're wrong! You would need an uber straight tree with little to no branches to even stand a chance but we would have an equal amount of trouble trying to get up that one...)

I see .... YOU.....

JJ, her male companion appears below. Such beautiful stripes.

We follow them to the enclosure. Wonderfully designed territory. Looks like the Maybank tiger right? Haha!

Oi! Get off of my spot!

Aqualife

Fishies and seahorse!! Absolutely love staring at the bright pops of colours. Looks like someone just went at them with a paintbrush! It amazes me so...

Clownfish! So cute!

Penguin beach

1. Feeding time!!!

2. The almighty Macaroni Penguin (Robin Williams played one in Happy Feet)

3. Pelicans and flamingoes

The Stars of the Show

Our little buddies, the Meerkats! (From South Africa, it is described as a sun-worshipper, brave and speedy).

Look how cute they are when they stare upwards. They are wonderful to watch. Love Lion King 1 1/2 and Timon's entertaining soliloquys: 'There's more to life than panic!'

'Dig a tunnel, dig, dig a tunnel! When you're done, you dig a bigger tunnel!'

The Outback

1. Kangaroos

Into Africa

1. Giraffes- we watched them have their favourite snack, cabbage with their long tongues.

2. 'What was that?? Quick before the hyena come.....'

3. The Okapi and its beautiful behind

4. Z is for Zebra! So beautiful!

Rainforest Life

1. The Tamandua who was freely ambling about across our paths. Most of us had to stop walking as a member of the Zoo staff (its bodyguard) trailed helplessly behind it telling people to let it pass. LOL.

2. We caught a tiny precious glimpse of the Emperor Tamarin, beard and all.

3. The Golden-headed Lion Tamarin - Sun Wukong!
