Cornish Christmas- Part III

The next day we decided to go to Bude. It was drizzling and the day was rather grey. We walked along the coastline again and saw some horses. The view from the top of Bude was quite lovely but we didn't take too many pictures. There was a pool made where the Atlantic ocean begins so that people can swim in there without getting swept away by the sea. Also prevents further erosion of the cliffs.

We returned that night and started a fire. My father-in-law in this shot looks like he is on flames. It was really fun. We also got fish and chips from a van that drives into Crackington Haven every Wednesday evening. Such fresh fish.

The cosy living room- we played the Mr Bean game that night.

Early the next day, we went back to Port Isaac as we missed the fresh produce when we went there the first time. This shop closes by lunch time so we wanted to catch it. We managed to buy some scallops, mussels, trout and haddock. Dinner was set!

The same place boils crab and packs all the goodies neatly into the giant shell for us to eat. This is indescribable. Look and you will know what I mean. So SOOOO much roe. A squeeze of lemon juice and some cracked black pepper and we were in cholestrol heaven.

We all huddled close and feasted on this gastronomical delight. Never have I seen so much roe in my life and it also tastes so different from crab roe in Malaysian crabs. This is the real deal. The smell of the sea would linger on our tongues long after.

After that delectable treat, we had to walk before the cholestrol went to our heads. We took a stroll up to Doc Martin's house and beyond.

We were debating whether the sheep grazing in the hill in the background were real because only one moved in the span of 5 minutes. :)

Spotted a beautiful red chested robin. He posed proudly for our pictures. Brave Sir Robin.

After that, we continued on past this idyllic B&B nesting on the hill. We could pick the coastal walk or inland walk. Needless to say, I voted for the coastal one given my love of the sea. We walked upwards onto the cliff.

View at the village from the top.

We continued on passing splodges of dung here and there. Around the bends, vistas of green plunging cliffs would greet us. It was spectacular. The pictures do not do justice to the sights. Imagine silent but strong gusts of wind beating against your face as you look over the ocean.
