Beautiful Santorini - more of Oia

I suddenly realised that I misplaced a second batch of photos from Day 1. So here are some select shots from that folder! You can't miss these!
The beautiful quaint houses and shops. I LOVE THE SPLASH OF COLOURS.

For those of you who don't know, Santorini is the remnants of a volcanic explosion close to 3500 years ago- called the Thera Eruption. The caldera= "A large crater formed by volcanic explosion or by collapse of a volcanic cone."

 Tiled name. Brilliant!

  A patisserie.

I just adore the Greek Blue!

 The view of the caldera.

You can see the pretty yachts down there and the water nearer to the edge is a gorgeous turquiose!

This is really a place which pictures do not do justice. In real life, the height where we're standing makes the view simply spectacular as you see the stacked houses all the way down the side of the steep and rocky cliff.

I tried my best to capture every angle of where we were standing just so you get some sort of a full view. Use the yachts to find your bearings in the next 3 shots.

Some of the lovely hotels there.

 The famous church in Oia

To-die-for!!!!

This place serves the BEST HOMEMADE ICECREAM ever. We sadly only went there on the last day. I had pistachio ice cream and it was the best, smoothest ice cream I had ever had. Pronounced as : Skiza. It has a marvellous view that overlooks the caldera. More pictures of Skiza on the final day.

I just find that the paint around the grey steps the most artistic thing ever. I mean the effort! Who does that?? Slowly sit and paint the steps. Sigh....Beautiful is becoming such a mundane word now with Santorini.
