Christmas came really quickly this year. We attended a Christingle service and I learned what a Christingle is:
- An orange, representing the world
- A red ribbon wrapped around it, or a paper frill around the candle, representing the blood of Christ
- Dried fruits and/or sweets skewered on cocktail sticks pushed into the orange, representing the fruits of the earth and the four seasons
- A candle pushed into the centre of the orange, then lit, representing Jesus Christ as Light of the World
- Aluminum foil, representing the star that showed people the way to Bethlehem
Callum's First Christmas- all dressed up for Christmas Service.
Some choice riddles from the Christmas Crackers this year:
Christmas lunch with the family- a lovely roast, pork belly, spicy Sriracha salad and zucchini curry leading up to the main event of learning about the meaning of Christianity hidden in original Chinese characters.
My father-in-law explaining to us what lies within the Chinese characters of Sacrifice, Sin, Christ, Christmas, Prosperity and more. Each broken up into their components that explain the meaning of Christianity.
Callum in his Christmas getup.
Callum's first handpainted Christmas ornament from a neighbour.
Callum gave us the best Christmas gift ever by sleeping well on Christmas Eve night. Here's him being awake, happy and cheeky.
My husband walked in on Callum smiling to himself with no one else in the room. He was probably tickled by Tigger. This boy is growing up so fast. He was only half the size of this Moses Basket and now he fills the entire thing.
Nothing more we could ask for this Christmas.
We are thankful for:
- LOVE from being surrounded with family
- PEACE with sound sleep from Callum, the dove
- GOODWILL from family, friends and strangers which help us in our new journey as parents
- SILLINESS from fun games and funny stories shared together
- GENEROSITY from everyone who blessed us with time, energy and gifts undeserved.
A Merry Christmas indeed!
