The Day Part I

The week before the wedding, it was scorching hot. Then the day before the wedding, it rained all day. We checked the weather report and it said that right when our wedding was going to start, it would be a thunderstorm and rain during the day. Thank God the thunderstorm only arrived at 1am the next day! We also didn't have the scorching heat which made me switch gardens 2 days before our wedding. Also, we were so thankful that our banquet manager, Kit was so helpful that he made it possible to accomodate 120 guests when we were told originally that it could only fit 60.

Due to nerves, I could only sleep for 5 hours which was quite alot! The beautiful scrapbook made for a wonderful bedtime reading for us both. The box contains personalised map cufflinks which I bought for Ying as a gift. One side had the map of Santorini on it (where he proposed) and the other had London on it(where we are). It was made by a trader on Folksy. Wonderful gift-wrapping.

Our engagement photobook and the fans for the guests of honour in case it got too warm. Glad to say I did not perspire a drop! Even without the fans.

The beautiful pillow handmade by Ying's relative. There were lots of handmade things in this wedding  which makes it all the more meaningful.

This 'qua' is 57 years old! It was worn by Ying's grandma's sister during her wedding. The embroidery and silk fabric is so beautiful. It's a family heirloom and so well-preserved that it looks brand new. So honoured to wear it.

My veil. I embroidered tiny pearls all around the veil in the middle of the flowers.

The lovely gown being tied by my wonderful sister who ties perfect ribbons. She was the only person who understood the design I had in mind when I designed the dress. I had already resigned to the ribbon looking differently so I was pleasantly surprised that she appeared and ended up tying the ribbon for me!
