The past month or two has been busy as usual. Solace found through cooking. Thanks to cravings, Sharon's fantastic recipes and inspiration from friends, the dishes below were achieved.
Picture 1- clockwise:
Spinach and Tuna Salad
Baby spinach leaves, tuna, chilli flakes, garlic, vegetable stock, creme fraiche and parmesan. So tasty.
Curried Fried Broccoli and Cauliflower
Lovely recipe from Sharon's blog.
Southern Fried Squid, Broccoli and Onion
Because it turned out so good, I decided to make it again, this time with a mixture of spices that ended up tasting like KFC
Stir-fried Celery, Egg and Garlic
Lovely recipe from my boss' wife. Totally fulfilled the craving for the salivating economy rice dish it resembles.
Sar Hor Fun with Shrimp and Chicken
Went so brilliantly with vinegar. Yum!
Vegetarian Samosas
Wrapped in shape of popiah. Managed to salvage my dried up popiah skins by using a dough as an adhesive.
Pan-fried Salmon with Chinese Omelette and White Wine Sauce
Picture 2- clockwise:
Microwave Banana Pudding and Toffee Sauce
Ying has finished 2 trays of this already. Quick and easy. Recipe off the Internet.
Vegetarian Sushi!
Made sushi with omelette, celery and carrot sticks.
Vegetable Melazane
Lovely recipe from Sharon's blog.
Tiramisu with Baileys
I prefer this to the Tia Maria versions as this is sweeter and I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't really appreciate the bitter aftertaste.
Picture 3- Vegetarian Curry puffs!
Yes, I attempted to make curry puffs which turned out really nice. I managed to get the swirly effect although I'd like it to be more but my stove is electrical and it sort of makes it difficult to fry the puffs. It slowly cooks them so the oil dough melted a little into the water dough making the marks not so clear. Nonetheless, I'm happy with how they looked and tasted especially since I made them without any meat flavours and mould! :)
