Cornish Christmas- Part I

We decided to hire a car and drive to Cornwall for a pre-Christmas vacation. We hopped into the Ford Focus and off we went on the road with our trusty GPS, Toto and Prom Praise cds. It was a 5 hour drive and we stopped for services on the motorway. We had KFC and Burger King's ice cream was very good.

Some beautiful sights on the journey. T'is the glory of the Lord!

The sun sets pretty early now.

Spotted an interesting clump of trees in the middle of a hill. Picturesque sight with some sheep grazing.

Of Beards and Birds...

We are arriving in Crackington Haven at last! The classical radio channel was amazing for driving through these country roads.

The view from the garden at the back of the cosy Trevean Cottage which greeted us with a very cute squirrel figurine.

The one on the left was our abode for the week. Look at the hay roof next door!

All the roads in the villages were small and windy. The post office was right next to our cottage.

The next morning, we headed down towards the beach and caught the most radiant glimpse of golden rays.

I've only seen the sunrise once.
It was beautiful and calm.
And as its rays stretched,
and touched the earth.
You could see it come to life.
There was solitude and peace,
then the silence began to be broken.
And from the mountain where I sat,
you could see as man got up,
that the serenity was suddenly spoiled.
The moment now was lost!
I've only seen the sunrise once.
It was beautiful and calm.
I'd love to witness it again,
but it starts so bloody early.
