Leeds- The Royal Armouries & Leeds City Museum

We woke up at 6.15am and headed out in subzero weather to catch the bus to Leeds.

The National Express we took was not comfortable. I miss Konsortium. Even Transnasional is better. Also, it was like taking a journey to Ipoh- stopping at Butterworth, Juru and Tambun. There was a traffic light every 5 seconds entering the individual stops. I almost threw up by the time we were in Sheffield. The road was windy and autocar syndrome was hitting me bad. The heater in the bus was on and it felt really stuffy. I felt so suffocated and sweaty. The lady next to us was bundled up in coats, scarfs and boots reading while all this happened. I don't understand it. The roads were icy but first impression of Leeds: fairly good.

The Royal Armouries(the Internet rated this as the must-do thing in Leeds)

I really enjoyed myself at the Leeds City Museum! Although the museum was small, it was very interactive. Almost everything had a game/activity to complete. Fun, fun, fun! A museum where you can actually touch the things on display!! All but the mummy. Sadly, we couldn't take photographs of him. A real mummy, too from 3000 years ago! Madness to think that someone from before Jesus' time was lying there in the museum.

I killed Ying in the Ant Race. We got to become chameleons.
Ying sort of missed the point of the exercise. Spot me, the green tree frog. I'm pretty good at avoiding predators I must say.

We got to assemble some broken pottery. Not as easy as it looks. Ying gave up. LOL. I did it! A cupboard with many doors! Each tells a facet of some story. Lets you play detective.
One cupboard told the story of the Bubonic Plague and another had the nursery rhyme of Ring-a-Roses.

We could walk on the map of Leeds :)
We got to feel the different stages of marble and build a miniature Greek gateway.

The German Christmas Market

We really enjoyed Leeds. Sadly, our marginal utility dove back to negative after the bus ride home. :(
