Singapore Part 4- Sentosa Island

Day 3 Part 2: Sentosa Island, Orchard Road

We stopped by the Hershey's shop at Universal Studios on our way.

A glimpse into the Universal Studios entrance, another Merlion and off we were to Sentosa Island.

Sights around the Island- the luge, Wavehouse, tiny islands you could swim across to (all of which we didn't want to do. We mainly wanted to enjoy the beach). Siloso beach end was the more festive one.

We picked a spot(in front of Cafe Del Mar because of the jazz/samba songs they played. Lying down on the beach shaded by a tall coconut tree, with the samba soothing songs whisked me away to the Caribbean. All that was missing was a coconut in hand. Anyone who knows me knows I hate the heat and dirty, crowded beaches. I am pictured lying down on the sand and looking genuinely pleased with the surroundings. :D Some people were throwing a ball, others were swimming. No obstructions whatsoever.

The other end of the island had the bridge to the Southern Most  point of Continental Asia.
Crossing the bridge. This was slightly nauseating. Halfway through a bunch of Singapore students hopped on and decided to rock the bridge. I almost threw up.

Headed back to the resort. We caught a gymnast doing a rope routine from the ceiling as a tribute to Singapore. It was the most beautiful routine I ever saw. I almost cried when it ended because it was so amazing. I caught it all on video which unfortunately again I cannot share here :( I watched it 6 times already now. (~Sing a song for Singapore~) :) She was dangling right above me doing all the stunts in the air. In the last scene, she unravelled from the top of the rope all the way down.

Nan Eng drove us around later to look for a fried rice recommended by the itinerary. Turns out it was soooo expensive! Good thing the itinerary had an alternative! :D Song Fa Bak Kut Teh it is!

Slightly different from Malaysian black bak kut teh.

Later, Nan Eng blew me away with her organised-ness. She keeps a log of the mileage of the car and it's amazing. I told her she should publish it. I can literally turn to a page last year and find out where she was at a particular time! :D Cool.

Breakfast next day. Cute coffee place with novelty signs.

Lunch. Oh so yummy duck. The only other place I've found so far to serve Island Glades duck quality. Che- you need to go!

Headed to Orchard Road last. Thank God we reserved this for last. Ying and I found out we really don't get a kick out of mall-after-mall-after-mall. Nothing special. The crowd. Ugh. Consumerism.... The malls we entered: Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, Paragon, Far East Plaza, Tangs. We went hunting for Cici jelly thanks to A Certain Childhood Friend who once told me I could find it anywhere in Singapore. Turns out no, you can't. We realised one of the malls was Phillipino district. :D

Nan Eng sent us off. Thank you so much for being such a generous host and for the lovely time in Singapore. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! See you soon!

You gotta list the places with the food for me when we next hit Singapore. Oh and the penguin looks familiar!
