New Zealand South Island: Queenstown

Along the way to our next destination, we stopped and got out whenever there was a view.

Some parts of the drive especially the Lindis Pass reminded us a lot of the Scottish Highlands. Definitely missing Isle of Skye.

There were many patches of purple lupin scattered all around our journey in stark contrast to the yellow-brown landscape.

The glacial feed gives this beautiful blue to many bodies of water around the island.

Stunning mountain views. Would love to return during a colder season to perhaps see more snow.

We stopped by the Kawarau bridge to see some bungee jumpers. There was one every few minutes given the good weather. Quite thrilling to watch! It costs $205 per jump. We're not big on adrenaline rushes so didn't think it justified spending the amount on a very short moment.

We didn't spend too long in Queenstown.
Queued up at the famous burger place for lunch and visited a local art gallery.

The husband needed his coffee so we stopped by a nice cafe with an amazing view outback.

We walked around the town centre for a bit after.

We drove up some incredibly steep slopes to a recommended spot which had a brilliant view.

Would definitely return to Queenstown to experience a different season or even maybe do the luge next time!
