Singapore Part 2- Sightseeing

Day 2: St. Andrew's Cathedral, Parliament street, Old and New Supreme Court, Asian Civilisation Museum, Cavanagh Bridge, Singapore River, Fullerton Hotel, Let's get Merlion-crazy!, Singapore Financial District, Newton Food Centre and Mustafa Centre

The Cathedral! With a slight drizzle. 

The Old Supreme Court and the New Supreme Court. The Supreme Court was the bestest place ever. Cameras were not allowed in but if anyone watched Inception and got inspired about architecture, you would love to be in the new Supreme Court. The designs are so modern and crazy scary too. Be forewarned do not enter if you are afraid of heights.

The Old Parliament House and the New Parliament House. 

On to the Victoria Theatre. Stamford Raffles and the Victoria Concert Hall- spot the Philharmonic orchestra. 

Concert Hall and outside the Asian Civilisation Museum. Ying and a statue. Skyscrapers, the Cavanagh Bridge(built in 1800s). The Singapore River and Fullerton Hotel in the background.

Discovered a very yummy colourful soft bread with icecream chunks. I really really loved it. Especially on a drizzly day. The weather was just right, no sweaty sun and some lightbreeze. Eating icecream and bread was heaven! I really like ice cream in cold weather. Had 2 in my whole trip. One strawberry/blueberry and choc chip. YUM just a dollar!

Who built the bridge? Also, some cool statues.

The progression of oddity continues....

We bought another piece of ice-cream bread at the entrance to Merlion Park. 

Took so much skill to take a picture without anyone in our way with the Merlion..... so many tourists from China and Hong Kong. One shoved me while I was taking a picture saying, 'Cheh Meh Em Koi'(Please get out of my way) and proceeded to plant her kid on the stairs and slowly aim and pose the camera for a shot yelling 'Siew, siew'(Smile). OMG....

I don't know if this is a very touristy thing to say, but I honestly loved standing at the deck watching the statue spurt out tons of water. The wind was blowing wildly and it was soooo breezy and fun. Takes your breath away. The shots doesn't at all convey how majestic it felt that day. Perfect weather, really!

Mini Merlion

Fullerton Bay Hotel and a very interesting art sculpture in the middle of the intersection.

Marina Boulevard. Love how the buildings disappear into the sky. Spot the crazy Minyak Angin bus- after seeing it, you get a headache hence great advertising....

We drove past National Museum of Singapore on the way to dinner at Newton Food Centre.

The food got rave reviews online so we expected touristy prices. But it wasn't too pricy! In fact the oysters were only 5 SGD!! It was by far the best starchy egg ever!! Yummy fried rice and oh-so-spicy stingray. Seriously, Singapore sambal is spicy all the way to your stomach kind of spicy.

Swung by Mustafa Centre(recommended in my itinerary as the Asian House of Frasers) Haha. So many varieties it's crazy. It had 5 entrances. We spent all night there and we didn't even cover 10% of it. The first floor was household items/beauty/perfumes/shampoos(and boy were there many. They had an entire floor dedicated to gold and jewellery. The ground floor was for electronics. The highest floor was groceries and further in was all sorts of spices and Indian food. Amazingly crowded too. We could seriously lose each other in there. Coconuts were only 80cents each! Ying couldn't believe his eyes. Spot minyak angin shelf- looks like the bus also. Just look at the types of milk. Goodness.

All in all a very fulfilling day. :)
