Melbourne Part 1

Canberra Day 16: Steamboat; Day 17: Off to Melbourne

For our last supper in Canberra, we had a Hong Kong-style steamboat. Cabbage, fishballs stuffed with roe, beef, beefballs and other tasty treats. We discovered another salivating delight. Konnyaku! Or Wu Si (Woozy) in Cantonese.

The next day it was goodbye beautiful townhouse in Canberra. We were off to Melbourne...via Sydney! For those of you who know your Geography, you know that this is quite insane.
We took it as a lunchdate. I was happy clutching my Masterchef magazine and he was happy hunting down Harry's for another Tiger pie before we left. We had a Maltesers Sundae to wash down the beefy mush.

So as the sun set in the most breathtaking panoramic linear, we arrived in Melbourne.

Melbourne Day 1: Church and Friends

Rise and shine. Mom in a nifty jacket. Parents headed to church and we headed to a different church to meet up with Sarah and Jia Ren.

Views on Swanston Street. Ying and Jia Ren. Walking towards the Dallas Brooks Centre. Welcome to Planetshakers.

The best hosting corner ever... Macaroons and cupcakes. Such svelte little plates...

We walked to lunch at Stalactite- the lamb was charred to perfection.

After half a lamb souvlaki each, we headed to half a bowl of Mekong Vietnamese Pho each. Apparently, 'Bill Clinton had 2 bowls, how many will you have?' Next stop, the lovebirds brought us to their 'Secret-no longer so secret- hideout' : Chokolait.

Interesting sights on the street: Why did the statue not cross the road? Because it was freezing! :D

Ying knelt where Pope John Paul II once prayed.

We went back to their house to chill for a bit which was once owned by mafias apparently. There was a hole left by a flashbang on the table.

After which, it was dinner with Cheryl and Jack whilst Sarah skipped out in only one layer in the freezing cold. :) The pizzas and pastas were tremendously yummy!

Believe it or not, we finished it all....and headed off for dessert at Brunetti. Loved the tasty delights. Especially Ying and his fruit craze.

Many Aussies go out at night contrary to popular belief that the city is quiet after 5. This place attempted to reconstruct the macaron tower on Masterchef. People at the next table were also talking about the tower.

Thank you girls for such a splendid day in Melbourne.
Thanks Sarah for bringing us out despite the rain. Wished we had time to go to the Docklands. Hope you get a great job that you love! HUGS
Thanks Cheryl for the lovely dinner, dessert and ride home. Haven't seen you in so long. So great to catch up with you :D Here's hoping you pass your exams with flying colours. HUGS

Love you guys!
